I sourced some video equipment from my place of work, and was able to arrange a short tutorial with my colleagues who work in the production team. They showed me how to set up the camera equipment (including lighting and mic stands) ready to shoot an interview. They also discussed where to shoot from and what framing to use; ie full body, or just a headshot. I learned about basic video camera settings such as shutter speed, aperture and gain to help me get the optimum footage in different lig hting situations.

AB Photography - Logo Animation Project

Many businesses who have an online presence are choosing to opt for animated logos instead of static because they are visually more appealing than the latter. An animated logo is much more likely to hold the attention of the user, especially in an online environment that is being saturated with images and content. It also helps to build brand awareness because motion is much more memorable than static images. They can be used in a variety of ways; as a logo on their website or app, they can be used as a profile image on some social media platforms, they can also be used as title sequences on corporate brand videos, or within online presentations. I was commissioned to design an animated logo for AB Photography, to help him build brand awareness via the company website, and social media. He has also chosen to use it in his promotional videos. Guest Speaker - Jamie Mollart

I was privileged to meet Jamie Mollart, one of the Directors at one of the region's most well established and respected full service agencies, Rock Kitchen Harris (RKH). He is responsible for managing accounts and being head of client liaison. It was a real experience to meet him and hear about the company’s history as it’s been in business for over 35 years. They have developed with the times and understand that a great design or successful campaign is only possible with a vast amount of research and user testing.
