Types of Marketing Campaigns

Image
We explored the different types of marketing campaigns I can create to help build brand awareness and connect with more potential consumers. Tips and advice These types of marketing campaigns are a great tool for offering advice and personal opinions on relevant topics. They can create a mutual bond with customers on subjects they share an interest in, or can spark conversations and debates which are examples of interactions that can strengthen brand and customer relationships. Offers and promotions I’ve learnt that using offers and promotions can be a great tool to build brand loyalty and a stronger regular following by subscribed users. Everyone loves a bargain, and by offering something at a promotional price it creates interest and customers will be much more willing to make a purchase if they feel it is of good value. Explainers Explainer campaigns are another good way of giving something back to my audience for free. It can come in the form of a written o...

Storytelling as a Tool for Businesses

Image
Everyone is now able to create videos to help promote their brand or company. In order to stand out in this crowded industry many companies are looking for other ways of connecting with their audiences, and one way of doing this is to use storytelling. I have learned that storytelling can help me to connect with my customers on a deeper level, because they are more engaging than other video types, and often evoke emotional feelings which are more meaningful and memorable. The stronger the engagement levels, the more likely my videos will be liked, shared and commented upon. Stories help us to affirm who we are as an audience when we connect through stories, and it also allows the audience to experience similarities we have with others. This feeling of connection will help my brand to create brand loyalty with my audience. ( https://youtu.be/KxDwieKpawg )

Website Design

First Impressions on a website mean a lot, they can affect bounce rates dramatically, so getting key information above the fold is integral to entice the user to continue through my site. Information needs to be easy to find, relevant and look pleasant. User Experience I have learned about user experience and how it relates to the user’s online experience and journey. It uses existing beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours to create a more efficient and optimised user-friendly experience. I have discovered that interactions can help to increase the ease of use, by encouraging positive ‘flow’.  A good interface allows users to navigate my site without getting confused or distracted, and will help users to feel like they are in control and are then more likely to have an enjoyable experience. Design Elements As well as good functionality, it is also important for me to create online interfaces which are presented in aesthetically pleasing way. As first impressions are f...

Content Marketing

Blog 23 - Content Marketing According to the Content Marketing Institute , content marketing is defined as: “… a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly-defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action.” Content marketing can be used to show that I care about my customers which is important in building brand trust and loyalty in today’s congested world of marketing. I have learned that more and more people are using social media and search engines to find interesting content. I can create my own content campaigns to help me to connect with my target audience, and also drive traffic to my website. The process is made up of three phases; creating, publishing, and distributing the content to my audience, with the goal of building relationships with current customers and also attracting new ones. Examples of effective content marketing include: ...

Guest Speaker - Emma Fay

Image
I had the pleasure of meeting and attending a great presentation talk by Emma Fay, who is a Concept Body Artist based in the UK. Emma uses the human body as a canvas to create artworks that challenge visual perception. She talked about how her artwork is inspired by surrealism and expressionism which is portrayed through both the paint and the manipulation of the human form. I really enjoyed hearing about her artwork and learning about her processes she follows to create them. Emma has worked for big companies such as the BBC, National Lottery, and Macmillan Cancer Support, as well as being a speaker for Ted Talks. You can see more of Emma's work on her website: http://emma-fay.co.uk/
