YouTube for Small Businesses

I have learnt how well video can be used as a tool for developing a brand story. YouTube is a great platform for promoting both short and longer videos. It has the ability to live-stream events, create a playlist of videos, and lets users like and subscribe to your YouTube channel.

Like many other social media platforms, YouTube allows you to access analytics for your video posts. These include learning about my audience demographics, playback locations, traffic sources, audience retention, and what devices they are using to watch from.
I have learnt about different types of videos and how they can help boost both the brand and customer followings:

Vlogs - gives me a chance to offer my personal opinions and thoughts to my subscribers, in a relaxed setting. This is a great tool to increase interactions and engagement and costs very little to create.
Interviews - are ideal to help inject authority by interviewing peers in my industry. This builds credibility by brand associations and partnerships.

Webinars - are a more formal and pre-planned way for me to offer advice and educate users on specific topics.

Tutorials - are a great way to give something back for free to your followers. I can use tutorials to help guide other SMEs and offer tips which will help to build my business reputation.

Animations - will help me to explain complex topics in a an easy to understand structure, and are more cost effective than other types of video

Behind-the-Scenes - gives me the opportunity to show background activities on my projects and work. These are more humanised than scripted videos and feels much more personal.

Live Streaming - are 10x more engaging than regular video posts. They allow me to connect in real time to my audience and makes it feel like a real life event. It creates a feeling of missing out on something if the user doesn’t tune in.
