AB Photography - Logo Animation Project

Image
Many businesses who have an online presence are choosing to opt for animated logos instead of static because they are visually more appealing than the latter. An animated logo is much more likely to hold the attention of the user, especially in an online environment that is being saturated with images and content. It also helps to build brand awareness because motion is much more memorable than static images. They can be used in a variety of ways; as a logo on their website or app, they can be used as a profile image on some social media platforms, they can also be used as title sequences on corporate brand videos, or within online presentations. I was commissioned to design an animated logo for AB Photography, to help him build brand awareness via the company website, and social media. He has also chosen to use it in his promotional videos. I enjoyed learning how to create masks and use key frame animation in After Effects to create a smooth revealing logo. Take a look ...

Restricted Intelligence - Campaign Infographic

Image
Restricted Intelligence is an information security awareness video series. I was asked to create an infographic to help guide users on the best way to roll-out the video series as part of an internal awareness campaign with employees. There was a need to produce a simple set of instructions to help clients use Restricted Intelligence video series as part of an awareness campaign.  Up until this point the company was sending out a text heavy documentation that wasn’t very easy for clients to follow. Improving the campaign instructions was important because the stronger the build-up of the campaign, the more engaged the audience would be, and therefore the films would be more of a success at building awareness. There were clear specifications with the brief: • It should either incorporate brand colours, or work in harmony with them • The design needs to be visually striking and fun • It needs to be company branded • The design needs to clearly show how best to ...

Gif Animation Experiment Project

Image
I have been having great fun learning how to create animations over the last few weeks and wanted to share some simple GIFs I’ve created. GIF, which is an acronym for Graphics Interchange Format , was introduced back in the late 1980’s by Steve Wilhite as a new way to present a moving image. GIFs are a fantastic type of content design that can be used in a multitude of ways to help drive engagement and brand awareness. They are fun to watch and much more attractive than a static image. And according to Twitter , people shared more than 100 million GIFs in 2015 through tweets and direct messages. GIFs are suitable to both large and small businesses because they are relatively cheap and easy to create. They are also light in file size which means they work just as well on smaller mobile platforms as the desktop. They can be used to tell a story, evoke emotions, and because of this are much more likely to stay in the mind of consumers. Check out my GIF examples below: ...

Twist & Shout Communications - Online Brochure Design

Image
I was approached by Twist and Shout Communications to create a company brochure that would be used to introduce potential clients to Twist and Shout Communications, a bespoke video production company which specialises in creating comedy videos for marketing and internal communications. The design needed to present the content using fresh and contemporary layouts to capture the essence of the company. It explains how comedy can be used in business as an engaging communication tool. The brochure was created in both print and digital formats to maximise on opportunities to connect with new potential clients. The digital version has been optimised for viewing on screen and links have been added to make it easy for the reader to connect to the website or get in touch by email.

Manage My Risk - Website Design Project

Image
Manage My Risk are an IT Security and Compliance agency that work with SMEs to help them protect against cyber security risk. I was asked to produce a set of new website designs to help update the Manage My Risk website to make it more engaging; using a mixture of emotive imagery and restructuring the layout to be more user-focused. I really enjoyed working on the research for this project, and learning about the latest trends in user experience, responsive layouts, and understanding the psychology behind emotive imagery. The site needed to have a clear focus in the following industries; Law, Creative, and Manufacturing, and they were very happy with the design template I produced. The website is currently in development and the new designs will be implemented on a screen near you very soon. Old Site: New Site:

Moore & York - Brochure Design

Image
Moore & York are an estates agency are an independent estate agent based in the Leicestershire area. They got in touch with me to commission a brochure design that would up-sell their professional photography services. They planned to use the brochure both printed in store to show prospective house and property sellers and landlords, as well as digitally, as an email campaign to their contacts and  subscribers. The brochure needed to capture the brand image, and look professional with a clean and modern theme template. I spent some time researching the company to understand the brand and what they stood for, and used this to help me come up with mockups for the brochure design. I created two different versions, one for print, and the other for digital distribution, making sure the the online version was optimised for digital screens.
